Fancy something a little different from your usual flatscreen experience? Well, you’ve come to the right place. Planetarium Film Screenings of 3 incredible films: Panda Award Nominee, Secrets From a Forest (26m), Sounds of the Ocean (25m), and The Earth Above (28m).

Secrets From a Forest (26m): Neil Lucas
Led by the artistic vision of award-winning nature photographer Jim Brandenburg, award-winning director Neil Lucas, and featuring members of the Minnesota Orchestra.

Secrets from a Forest tells an interwoven story of the relationship between nature and art through the exquisite and rare Stradivarius Violin. The film explores the Paneveggio Forest in the Dolomite Mountains of Northern Italy throughout the seasons and observes the role of smaller life forms that shape the growth of Paneveggio’s towering spruce trees. For centuries, Paneveggio has been home to the “singing” spruce, the source of wood for the Stradivarius Violin.

Sounds of the Ocean: A Mindful Underwater Journey (25m): Joshua Sam Miller, Elise Lein
In this 25-min immersive experience, we invite you to go within yourself and connect deeply with ocean life. Sounds of the Ocean combines sounds of whales & dolphins, original music, immersive visual art and award-winning ocean imagery to guide the audience on a mindful underwater journey. Believing in the power of peaceful activism, the project’s intention is to inspire ocean action to protect life underwater, while also helping to reduce stress in our modern society. An award-winning UN Ocean Decade Activity produced by Embodied Sounds.

The Earth Above: A Deep Time View of Australia’s Epic History (28m): Ruwe Collective
A 30 minute full-dome planetarium show funded by the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Australian Biodiversity and Heritage (CABAH), and produced by the Deakin MotionLab in Melbourne, in collaboration with First Nations communities across Australia and University of Wollongong Science Space.

Australian First Nations tell of a solid sky dome around the Earth. After we die, we’re transported beyond the dome to join our ancestors. On Earth we see our ancestors as stars shining through holes in the cover of the dome. Using the fulldome experience as a medium that can embody this ancient story, "The Earth Above: A Deep Time View of Australia's Epic History" follows the ancestors on a journey deep into Country. We move across ancient Superhighways connecting the entire continent of Australia, sharing deep time stories illuminated by new relationships between emerging research and First Nation’s knowledge.
