In the Earth Belly: Stories for Imbolc at Urban Escape Roundhouse
See event details

A event on Sunday 4th February. The event starts at 16:00.

Tis the dawn of Spring. The time has come for tentative unfurling and the gentle stirring of being and body. As the earth comes alive and green shoots nudge their way through soil, we celebrate Imbolc, the Celtic festival whose name means ‘In the belly’. And what better way to herald the sweet Spring than with stories, music and merry-making in the belly of a cosy roundhouse.

Join us for a twilight celebration of all things earthy and sweet, with live music from Emmy the Harp, and stories from Hannah Sneyd.

Hannah Sneyd is a storyteller and healer based in the Dartmoor wilds. Her original and richly layered stories arrive on the wind and thread a canny path between the humdrum and the fantastical. When not spinning fireside yarns, she is a practitioner of Family Constellations, milker of goats and a shamanic healer.

Emmy the Harp is a community harpist and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Bristol. Her musical style reflects the city’s rich musical culture and her own fascination with fresh, unusual sounds, fusing fiery West African rhythms with rich classical and jazz harmonies. Her many collaborations include rock bands, experimental poets, sound therapists and circus performers to name a few. Music is her life; when not playing the harp she is playing bass guitar, alto flute or the Zimbabwean Mbira.
