on Sunday 13th October. The event starts at 10:00.
Discovering and moving from your inner, spontaneous impulse; developing a sense of your Self as an embodied, unfolding awareness; being witnessed, received, reflected without judgement in a relational practice; experiencing yourself anew. These are the cornerstone elements of this Introduction to Authentic Movement, a foundational dance and movement therapy practice developed in the 1980s. The session will offer a taster for a longer deep-dive weekend to be held at a later date (details TBC). No dance experience required.
Tutor: Dr Eila Goldhahn, a personal student of the late Dr Janet Adler, founder of Authentic Movement, has been teaching and researching Authentic Movement, or discipline of MoverWitness, for more than 30 years. She is the author of Reflections on Authentic Movement: Theory, Practice and Arts-led Research (Routledge 2022) and artistic director of several short movement films. Based in Plymouth, she is teaching in Bristol for the first time in 20 years.
Tickets: £55 (concession) / £68 (standard) / 2 bursary places available. Early bird 10% discount on all tickets booked before 6th September.
