Mireinart is happy to present an Introduction to the Tarot de Marseille: the Origin and the Meaning of the Cards on Wednesday the 20th of April 2022 at To the Moon, Bristol from 6 to 8 pm.
The symbolism and iconography of the tarot, as well as its origin, many uses and variants, are very complex territory to map out. In view of this, the objective of the event is precisely to offer a broad and reliable idea of the meanings of the beautiful images of the cards (major and minor arcana) and the origins of the Marseille tarot deck both by a lecture and a practical demonstration.
The tarot night will be also an opportunity to present the contents of the Tarot of Marseille Reading starting in May. The course will see a more comprehensive examination of the following topics:
- Historical background, origins of the tarot and its uses;
- Understanding the tarot card system;
- The major arcana, meanings, iconography and interpretation;
- The minor arcana, reading techniques;
- Practical exercises for reading individual cards and spreads;
- Practical exercises on tarot spreads and layouts;
- How to find your own approach to tarot reading according to your personality and skills;
- Responsibility and ethics of tarot reading.
The event is led by Marta Isabella Reina (Mireinart), a visual artist based in Bristol who works on symbolism, folklore, magic, mythological and religious imagery (www.mireinart.com).
She started studying tarot years ago in Italy following her interest in medieval and renaissance symbolism, she attended lectures and courses and has been trained according to Jodorowsky's distinctive approach to tarot reading alongside the therapeutic practice of Psychomagic.
She has a background in design (PhD) and she is now doing independent research about mutual dreaming (www.doppelnovelle.com).
