The night kicks off with our much-loved House dance class 8-9pm. From 9-12 we have Katie Novo (Noods Radio) & Fly Fox (Femmes on Decks) spinning Latin & Jazz infused House, Broken Beat, Funk, Afrobeat, Disco, Salsa and more.

ABOUT THE DANCE CLASS:
Lottie will be teaching House Fusion with a focus on musicality and groove. We’ll cover movement philosophy, conditioning and basic technique before moving on to looped sequences of choreo designed to encourage effortless flow and a state of unity.

ABOUT YOUR DANCE INSTRUCTOR:
LOTTIE BALL is a dance/movement psychotherapist and somatic practitioner based in Bristol. In addition to running sessions for schools and community groups, she teaches regular classes and co-leads experimental movement workshops as part of Body Language.

Her dance background spans Afro-Samba, Streetjazz, House, Vogue and Hip-Hop, taking equal inspiration from studio-based training and club dancefloors. She’s drawn to spacious styles that promote inclusivity and expressive freedom. House dance for her is a spiritual exercise in mind-body-rhythm connection that offers a total state of joyful immersion.

The class will be open to all levels. If you're not familiar with House Dance, take a look at the video linked here, from a big international house dance events this Summer - there's some phenomenal dancers to inspire you :)

House Dance is one of the core street dance styles, and a growing scene that has crossed the Atlantic from its origins in Chicago & Detroit to blossom into thriving scenes in London, Barcelona, Paris and Tokyo among others.

ABOUT YOUR DJS:

FLY FOX
Hailing from the vibrant beatscape of Bristol and a true slave to the rhythm, Fly Fox has hosted radio shows on Noods Radio, SWU.FM and Crate Digs.

Her style is diverse and eclectic - drawing inspiration from the 90's rave scene, exploring house and techno dripping in 303 acid, those deep grooves from Detroit and the classic disco and soul inspired electronic scene in Chicago.

As the co-founder and organiser of Femmes on Decks, an all female DJ led community, Fly Fox empowers women to take to the decks, earning their rightful place in Bristol’s music and cultural landscape. She hosts monthly parties and helps create line ups for events promoting rising stars in this thriving micro-culture.

Venturing beyond the city limits, she’s left her mark on festivals like Glastonbury, We Out Here & Shindig, as well as supporting Groove Armarda at Bristol’s Harbourside.

Katie Novo has been collecting music & DJing for 25 years. She holds down radio residencies on Bristol's premier underground station Noods Radio and Brighton's 1BTN, and founded Counting Blessings to create a happy, welcoming space to let go & enjoy some sweet musical movement.
