The Unknown Soldier at The Trinity Centre
See event details

A event held at The Trinity Centre on Saturday 19th October. The event starts at 18:00.

The Unknown Soldier is a compellingly theatrical ode to the Black British War Veterans. Telling various stories of men and women of Black British Heritage, it is a performance response to the hidden histories of Black people, in particular Black soldiers during the First and Second World War.

The work is an interdisciplinary performance that weaves the mediums of dance, text, live music, and visuals to capture the participation of these brave men and women who were often hidden from the British War Effort. As these soldiers embark on their quest to fight in the War, the choreography uses various styles:  African, Caribbean, Contemporary Dance and the Lindy Hop, to foster a narrative of untold stories of these war veterans.

This is part of Trinity Presents - our in-house programme of music and performance, bringing world-class artists and emerging talent to inner-city audiences.
