"It seemed like the devil had totally robbed us of our Idle Hands. But the iconic wax outlet has finally returned with a MASSIVE new shopfront in a sexy uptown location. Dr. Farrell sets things rolling in b2b fashion with Milly on the Air + Belfast’s deep-digging new beat / acid / italo standard-bearer Marion Hawkes. You can’t keep a good man down!"

clubnight
on Friday 29th November. The event starts at 22:30.
Something is happening in the Idle Hands universe. Rumours are circulating around town - what could they be about? If a currently closed shop were to celebrate something, what might that be? If they were to hold a celebration, it would probably involve a party, featuring DJs they hold in high regard. Someone like Marion Hawkes, for instance.
Marion Hawkes is the proprietor of Sound Advice, one of the finest record shops in Ireland, based in Belfast. Sound Advice epitomises what a modern record shop should be: broad yet specialist, with a constantly evolving stock, overseen by a DJ with deep knowledge. Regularly found playing sets, Hawkes is soon to celebrate nine years of her club night 'Ponyhawke', a monthly queer underground club night held at the Ulster Sports Club.
If Idle Hands were to book supporting acts, a back-to-back set featuring the shop’s owner, Chris Farrell alongside Milly On Air would seem to be fitting. Their set at The Love Inn’s 10th birthday earlier this year was good, maybe they should reprise it?
What could be happening at Idle Hands? Stay tuned.
