The Slimline Shufflers at The Oxford
See event details

A gig held at The Oxford on Tomorrow. The event starts at 21:00.

The Slimline Shufflers return to The Oxford in Totterdow as winter fast approaches, bringing their dynamic New Orleans-style rhythm`n`blues to keep your toes tapping through the night.

With virtuosic piano playing and searing harmonica, and inspiration drawn from iconic Crescent City musicians such as Professor Longhair, James Booker, Allen Toussaint and Dr. John, their music makes it easy to imagine yourself enjoying a bowl of jambalaya on a midnight Mississippi riverboat ride.

The Slimline Shufflers tend to focus on different sides of the blues...think maybe of Mose Allison, Willie Mabon, or even early Georgie Fame, with a really kicking rhythm section & a blues harp player." - Blues in Britain

Comprised of Henry Slim on harmonica & vocals, Eric Arthur on piano, Adam Newton on bass, and Max Harrison on drums & vocals, December 2023 saw them release their debut LP "Suspicious Blues", which has been warmly received thus far in 2024. As well as continuing to gig solidly, they are currently working on material for an all-original second LP, which they are hoping will see the light of day in 2025 - they recently visited New Orleans itself for inspiration, and it did not disappoint!

Entry requirements: 18+
