A
gig
held at The Old England Pub
on Sunday 6th April. The event starts at 20:00.
Evil Sword are coming to the UK to deliver their warped brand of experimental no wave horror-metal to Bristol's weirdest gig-goers at one of the city's most iconic alternative music spaces, joined for the occasion by local acts Scops and Frances Pylons.
EVIL SWORD
Conjuring tales of stinking bogs, withered crones, haunted barns and deceased livestock, their performances are energetic and unnerving in equal measure.
Characterised by Ferencz' raw, yelping vocal and Furgal's unstoppable bass lines, you can also expect an eclectic array of other cracking, banging, droning instrumentation as Evil Sword invite you to take a walk through their uniquely demented realm.
SCOPS
Avant-garde folk band Scops will bring to the table words and tunes from an obscure corner of our spiritual past.
The act arrived on Bristol's music scene in 2023 with performances of 'Greya and Glibyun,' a tale of yearning, religion, motherhood and necromancy. Combining music, poetry and storytelling, Scops offer a glimpse into life as it was on Innis Djorn, a thousand years ago.
FRANCES PYLONS (solo set)
Frances Pylons will return for their first live performance of 2025 with their mercurial brand of weird-folk. Characterised by C F Sherratt's peculiar, untameable vocal, these songs shift between saccharine crooning and hideous freak-folk dirge. These are stories and fragments carefully crafted and accompanied by the artist's varied and expressive guitar playing.
