RAYMOND MACDONALD+JER REID / BYRN WYRD+more at The Old England Pub
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Massive four-biller of shape-shifting experimentalism from the ever-generous IGH crew! At the helm: Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra collaborators Raymond MacDonald + Jer Reid with their playful, freeform improvisations on guitar and sax. Plus twisted industrial noise manipulations from Bryn Ward, reverb-soaked post-doo-wop from newbies Patsy Delve, and, ofc, IGH’s ever-morphing house band."

https://jerreid.com/music/

A freelance musician, sound engineer and
dramaturge. Initially guitar playing wouldn’t have
kept his interest if he hadn’t had Ali Begbie to make
sounds with when he was a teenager. Since then
he has become veteran of Glasgow’s music scene;
played music or done sound in 30 countries ;
improvised with kids & young adults with support
needs; given performance lectures at the Royal
Conservatoire of Scotland and had his music played

BYRN WYRD
*************
https://aphelioneditions.bandcamp.com/album/l-a-crab

Bryn Wyrd is a Bristol based duo with strong Midlands
roots. The collaboration between Anthony Brown (Repo Man
/ Iceman Furniss Quintet / Swelt) on upright bass and Aron
Ward (Harpoon/ Olanza / Repo Man) on assorted electronics,
drum machines and fx mangling wields an impressively diverse
palate. Aron and Ant bring a gnarled, rugged and hyperactive
sound to the table with traces of early Warp-style IDM (Idiotic
Dance Music) colliding with free-jazz bass wigouts, dub
/concrète/industrial textures smudged into the corners
and plenty of proper swingin’, sweatin’ groove to gurn
your face off too.

“An esoteric romp through IDM, free jazz, and noise”
Norman Records

“In Brown, we have yet another standup bassist thumbing
their nose at learned convention – in this case by throwing
sinewy lines at Ward, who spins them into a web where early
techno meets early industrial and are eavesdropped on by
newer upstarts” - the quietus

“ This is undoubtedly the place if you want to hear a curious,
different kind of improvisation” - vital weekly

PATSY DELVE
~~~~~~~~~~
Patsy Delve is a project that sits in the intersection of
new and old; inspired in equal parts by Cindy Lee and
Dirty Beaches, 50s girl groups, Velvet Underground and
Les Rallizes Denudes. Drones, feedback soaked guitars
and tender ballads exist in equal measure. This IGH
performance sees the first outing of a full P.D. band !
