All Things Dance returns on Wednesday 29th March at the iconic The Mount Without and it promises to be even bigger and better!
Hosted by Diverse Artists Network in collaboration with Movema and Impermanence, this event will bring dancers together from across the spectrum of dance in the city and beyond.
The afternoon session (2pm-5pm) will include breakout groups and workshops, for artists to explore some of the issues facing the dance community in Bristol. With contributions from Lerato Stanley-Dunn, Latisha Cesar, Jan-Ming Lee alongside representatives from Impermanence, The Trinity Centre, Arts Council England, Bristol City Council and West of England Combined Authorities. The breakout sessions will discuss issues such as Dance Programming in the city, Career Sustainability for Freelance Dance Artists, and Funding and Dance Support Services
The evening session (5-9pm) provides an opportunity for dance lovers to find out about some of the diverse dance classes and performances happening in and around Bristol. Members of the public are invited to come along to get involved with workshops and demonstrations:
- Contemporary dance performance by Chen Yin,
- Jan-Ming Lee & Laura Moy from Bristol Contact Improvisation,
- Afro Contemporary dance from Penny-Marie Avery from Freedom Soul Dance,
- Impermanence Dance Theatre,
- Afro Cuban dance from Movema’s World Fusion Community dance group.
- Tibetan dance from Tenzin Sangmo.
- Capoeira demonstration led by Mestre Claudio Campos from Nucleo de Capoeiragem.
- Afro Contemporary dance by Yandy Martinez
- Latin Gems Afrosalsa dance choreographed by Bersy Cortez.
Ending with a Community Dance Jam led by Lottie Ball from the Body Language project / Get Free Dance Therapy.
Sudanese food will be served at 6pm and refreshments will avilable during the day.
