Late Night Tales welcomes Jack Savidge of Friendly Fires to Bristol's The Love Inn for an intimate, late night DJ set.
Jack is 1/3 of the hugely talented Friendly Fires, whose upbeat selections on their 2012 Late Night Tales album tripped back through disco’s global strands. From the erotically charged discofunk odyssey ‘Carry On, Turn Me On’ by French outfit Space, anthemic porn-disco ‘Fly Like An Eagle’ by Dennis Parker, 80s Dutch proto-house by Renée to the pulse of Junior Boys, Iron Galaxy and DJ Sprinkles; the influence of Jack’s DJ sets was front and centre.
Warming up and cooling down; Late Night Tales DJs’ Benjamin Smith reps the series' wealth and diversity, threading inspiration from the series together with tracks from his own record collection.
Late Night Tales invites the world’s best artists to delve deep into their music collections to create the ultimate "late night” selection. The series includes expertly curated mixes by Bonobo, Groove Armada, Jon Hopkins, Belle & Sebastian, Django Django, Four Tet, Friendly Fires, Nils Frahm and The Cinematic Orchestra.
