Floorwork Open- Level Dance Class at The Island
Prices based on wage brackets

A event held at The Island on Tuesday 6th February. The event starts at 18:30.

Join us for our second 6-week series! These classes are open level. You can come as a beginner, or someone with more experience, the classes are designed to allow folk to work at their own level, with our support for wherever you’re at.

Classes will be structured in a way to practice the basics and build on these skills;
Exploring pathways into the floor, on the floor and out of the floor. Breaking down movements, developing and adding variations. Drawing on the knowledge from developmental movement patterns, flying low and contemporary dance.
Using a combination of games, improvisational scores and tasks, drilling movement, learning pathways and sequences. Finding how the spine, head and pelvis connect with each other and the limbs, using gravity to complement our movement. Articulating bones, muscles and fascia, moving through spirals and animal locomotion patterns. Aiming to build strength and mobility in order to find flow in and out of the floor.
Expect to have fun, sweat and dance with others!
