THURSDAY JUNE 20TH THE GRAIN BARGE BRISTOL DOORS 8PM £10/£8

Following last November's sell out show at Bristol's floating music venue The Grain Barge Hotwells, the Hard Rain Band are back for one Bristol date only in 2019, bringing their take on the songs of legendary 60's icon Bob Dylan to the stage. The band are fronted by vocalist Sarah Larkham ('a vocal dynamo. A true songbird of Americana' Bluesdoodles, 'achingly soulful voice' Bristol Folk Festival) with vocals, harmonica and acoustic guitar from award-winning alt-country singer songwriter Elliot Hall, multi-instrumentalist Len Leichti on lap steel, banjo, mandolin, bass, harmonica and more, and sparkling country lead guitar from the one and only Richard Riley (TOR records)

Featuring songs from albums spanning all eras of the great songwriter, including Just Like A Woman, Lay Lady Lay, Senor and Tangled Up In Blue. With an opening show from 'England's answer to Dylan himself' (Folkwords) - Elliot Hall. 'A rough, tuff and grumble voice tumbling over lyrics as good as this is the kind of daydream we need in this country to reignite a spark for credible new songwriters' Alex Lee Thompson NME

REVIEWS FOR THE HARD RAIN BAND:

'Great night, starting with Elliot's unique songs followed by the band playing Dylan. Too good a night to be a one off, not surprise they sold out.'

'Stunning vocals from Sarah and accomplished guitar work. A band who know their stuff when it comes to Robert Zimmerman.'

'A great gig for all fans of Dylan. Sarah gave us her own fabulous take on some Dylan classics yet somehow kept the authenticity that will satisfy the diehards.'

'A very enjoyable evening. Sarah and band on pedal steel and more performed a well chosen set of Dylan favourites, mostly from the 60s and 70s. Many were popular hits such as Like a rolling stone and Just like a woman but there was also a sprinkling of less obvious songs, including Blind Willie McTell. The songs were delivered by Sarah with a combination of enthusiasm and reverence. Hubby's harmonica playing was a real bonus.'

'Sarah and Elliot never disappoint.'

'Simply a wonderful evening. We enjoyed every moment.'
