Deems Experiment x Dur Brain at The Gallimaufry
See event details

A gig held at The Gallimaufry on Tuesday 18th February. The event starts at 21:00.

For the first and possibly only time ever, these two mighty juggernauts are set to collide, no doubt causing an explosion of jazz & rhymes that will echo through the ages.

Dur Brain is the solo project from Jack Wisdom. He is one half of the well loved hip hop duo Binbag Wisdom and frontman of Bristol Jazz/Hip Hop band Deyu. He has had music played on BBC radio 1 and BBC radio 6 among others and is a seasoned performer, playing festivals such as Glastonbury, Boomtown and Secret Garden Party, alongside touring around the world. He is also a certified Galli regular and is partial to a jam.

Deems Experiment is a group of Bristol based composers and instrumentalists led by keyboardist Aondoyima (Deems) Ioratim-Uba. Their style blends elements of jazz, classical music, hip hop, and math rock. In 2019 Deems moved to Bristol to do a PhD in physics, where he met drummer and electronic music producer Stan Glendinning (aka ELGAN) through the revived and thriving post-covid music scene. The two started Deems Experiment, initially as jams in Stan’s living room alongside Fabio Ferri (guitar), James Storm Otieno (saxophone), Marcus Gee (bass), and Tristan Cole (guitar). Since then, the band have become a regular fixture at the Galli, and have shared the stage with international acts such as Texas-based jazz/hip hop ensemble Sly 5th Ave and New York experimental post-punk group Editrix.

Come bare witness, or forever regret your choice.
