Ear Trumpet presents: Windborne, Seated Show at Bristol Folk House, 40a Park St, BS1 5JG - All Ages (Under 18s to be accompanied by a responsible adult)
Doors 7:00pm, Show 8:00pm
Join American vocal quartet Windborne for folklore, magic, and mystery with welcoming wassails, songs of solstice, and music for midwinter, performed in English, Occitan, and Lithuanian.
With a twenty-year background studying polyphonic music from around the world, Lauren Breunig, Jeremy Carter-Gordon, Lynn Rowan, and Will Rowan effortlessly shift between different styles of music. Their journey spans continents and centuries, illuminating and expanding on the profound power and variation of the human voice.
Windborne’s signature four-part vocal harmonies are the star attraction, with several songs embellished by the addition of guitar, banjo, and the traditional Lithuanian stringed kanklės.
The members of Windborne grew up in singing families where any gathering of friends was an opportunity to raise their voices in song. Midwinter, in particular, was a time rich in music. They learned to sing in harmony not from books or classes but through the example of their community, which passed down songs both old and new.
