So, the festive season is almost upon us, and with it comes many things - gifts, Christmas trees, hangovers - the usual malarkey. This year, however, Christmas is even better... this year, Christmas is Goldie Lookin.
Hot off the 6 December release of their soon-to-be-classic Christmas album, A Goldie Lookin Christmas (The Fairytale of Newport), Newport's own wise men, GOLDIE LOOKIN CHAIN, are set to take to the M4 bringing with them gold, leisurewear and mirth.
Just like Santa, GLC are coming to town.
A smash and grab Crimbo has been lined up with gigs at Fleece and Firkin (Bristol), Clwb Ifor Bach (Cardiff) and the Camden Underworld (London). The live shows promise to see the Princes of Newport play some GLC classics, tracks from the new Christmas album and perhaps they'll even throw in a few Christmas surprises.
'We have written the ultimate Christmas album everyone has been waiting for and we have decided to spread the festive joy with a dusting of yuletide gigs. I love Christmas and this year I'm going to be like Santa, but a musical Santa. If Shakin Stevens wasn't dead he would be well proud' said Rhys.
"I can't wait to get the Christmas party started and play some of our Christmas songs live. Its going to be more fun than the concert they had in'89 for the Berlin Wall coming down - and the music will be better. Apparently Cliff Richard and George Michael are coming to the London gig. Let's get festive" added Eggsy.
Goldie Lookin Chain will hit Bristol's The Fleece and Firkin on 11 December, Cardiff's Clwb Ifor Bach on 16 December and the Camden Underworld in London on 18 December. Tickets, on sale now, are priced at £12.50 (subject to booking fee), and are available from http://www.gigsandtours.com and the venues also.
Remember, keep safe this Christmas keep it Goldie Lookin!
