LUSH: A FAR FROM HOME MOVIE + Q&A WITH EMMA ANDERSON AND PHIL KING

We will take over the stunning Cube Microplex for an afternoon of shoegaze celebration.

DIRECTOR: PHIL KING
CAST INCLUDES: EMMA ANDERSON, PHIL KING, MIKI BERENYI, CHRIS ACLAND
INCLUDES Q&A WITH EMMA AND PHIL FROM LUSH, HOSTED BY JOHN HARRIS

Come along for a rare chance to see Lush: A Far From Home Movie, a film created by Lush band's bassist Phil King. Shared now in memory of Lush's drummer Chris Acland, who sadly took his own life in 1996, the film compiles candid Super 8 footage taken by King during Lush's time touring between 1992-1996. The tour diary offers an appropriately dreamy behind-the-scenes record of the beloved British shoegaze legends at their impossibly cool peak.
Phil King: "By the time I joined Lush at the end of 1991, they had already played around 190 shows in their four year career - and would go onto play another 320 or so before drummer Chris Acland's tragic and untimely death in October 1996. I would often take my trusty Sankyo Super 8 camera on tour with me - and since film was costly would try and make sure to shoot footage sparingly. Hopefully this film captures the excitement (and boredom) of being on tour - and, sadly in retrospect, I hope that it serves as a fitting memorial to a much missed by us all Chris."
This is a very special screening of the film, only showing exclusively in a small selection of handpicked venues including in Paris, Hebden Bridge, Bristol and London.
After the film, John Harris, Guardian columnist and music writer , will host a Q&A with vocalist and guitarist in Lush, Emma Anderson and fellow bandmate and filmmaker, Phil King. So come along armed with your questions for the band.

Howling Owl DJs will close the event with a shoegaze heavy set in the Cube bar.
