Bristol Radical Film Festival 2024 - Passes at The Cube
See event details

A event held at The Cube on Saturday 12th October. The event starts at 21:00.

We are back with another edition of the festival. This year we take a strong focus on contemporary social and political issues. From the UK legal system to the attempts of Amazon workers to unionize (and the tactics of the company to impede it). From Jewish identity to the current attacks on abortion rights in the USA and beyond or the intrinsic racism of media technologies.
And this year we invite to enjoy some music too during our launching screening on 26 September or before and after the screening of Open Country - if you think you new what country music means, you will be surprised!!

The Bristol Radical Film Festival began in 2012 to showcase contemporary and historical films that seek to disrupt, deconstruct, and divert from the mainstream.
At our events, films are a pretext for action and debate as much as they are important aesthetic and cultural objects in themselves. We always have a discussion or Q&A after our screenings, as we know that the films we screen are part of larger cultural movements that audiences engage with, rather than simply objects of consumption.
Our interpretation of the word ‘radical’ is an open one: while we believe that radical social, economic and political change is needed for a more equal, just and sustainable society, that fundamental belief can be articulated in a variety of ways. Film is a rich medium and we are very keen to exhibit works that interrogate political and aesthetic radicalism using new and challenging techniques.
