See event details

A gig held at The Bristol Fringe on Sunday 24th November. The event starts at 18:00.

Mike Crawford has been involved in music most of his life . Lead singer and songwriter for Bristol’s Punk/Soul band Spics in 1978,recording in LA with Booker T Jones, writing the music for Bristol’s great unsung alt-rock band Apache Dropout, and spending many years on the road tech-ing for acts like Portishead, Massive Attack, mixing drinks for Amy Winehouse, shucking oysters for Grace Jones and tuning guitars for everyone.

Rank Outsider is only his second solo album recorded in Bristol featuring local musicians such as Adrian Utley ( Portishead), Charlie Jones (Robert Plant, The Cult, Goldfrapp) Rob Norbury ( Emily Breeze) and co-produced by Massive Attacks’s Stew Jackson . It addresses with wit the contrasts of getting older, changing lives and the regular heartbreak of everyday existence.
