Bristol Dub Club presents the long awaited LAUNCH night for:
1Relation Sound System (One Relation)
A next generation Bristol sound full of vibes.
1Relation is a crew of 4 artists & friends with varying talents & skill sets who come together to deliver a heartfelt & high quality roots & dub experience.
They are:
WILFY ROOTIKAL
Wilfy is a talented & experienced vinyl selector who has played music around the world with particular connections to the sound system scene in Brazil, he also represents Peng Sound Records. He is heavily involved in the 1R studio works doing some production, writing & collaborating with singers & generally overseeing projects with vision and an attention for quality.
SAM
Sam is the youngest in the crew yet an instrumental part of the thing, he’s the main engineer for the sound, and also has a good collection of music to draw for. He’s an inspired producer & his inspiration can be heard across the best of 1R studio productions. He likes to graft and can often be seen lifting boxes and getting his hands dirty when it comes to sound system works.
ROSINA (SISTA INA)
Rosina is a super gifted singer and MC for the sound, she regularly blows audiences away when she sings at Cosies Reggae Sundays with Wilfy & her voice and style has even been compared with some reggae royalty, draw your own conclusions. She's also recently begun recording her vocals for the sound.
She connects with the crowd in a special way and brings some much needed feminine energy to the dance.
JONNY FISHA (KING FISHA SOUND)
Jonny is the most prolific dub producer in the crew with years of experience making tuff riddims and is highly respected by those who’ve heard his music. He’s recently had a tune released on Steppas Records and he’s a key component keeping the 1R studio ticking, a studio which is evolving constantly to new heights. He also brings the energy and top vibes when he performs.
Big D (Jah Lokko) & Ras Muffet (Roots Injection)
Also playing on the night will be Big D and Ras Muffet testing out the new system with their experienced hands and overstanding.
Both elders have undoubtedly played a key role in inspiring & giving space for the next generation, Big D has been running Bristol Dub Club for years supporting emerging young talent while Ras Muffet has been a particular inspiration with his production skills and knowledge, both men have certainly supported new sounds and artists over time and that has certainly been the case for the 1Relation crew who have been present at Dub Club sessions since they were young.
The 1R crew feel very blessed that these 2 Dub Club legends will be involved on the night.
So that's the lowdown, this promises to be a special occasion and we invite you to come dance away your worries whilst supporting a new sound at Bristol Dub Club.
