DHP Presents
Durry
+ special guests

Minnesota sibling duo Durry play scruffy alt-pop rooted in suburban ennui but searching for ambition. After forming in 2020, Austin and his sister Taryn Durry enjoyed viral success when a demo of their rousing slacker anthem, "Who's Laughing Now," became a runaway TikTok hit in 2021. Billing themselves simply as Durry, the band capitalized on the attention with their rambunctious 2023 debut album, Suburban Legend.

In 2020, during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, Austin Durry moved with his wife back into his family's home in Burnsville, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis. Formerly of the alt rock band Coyote Kid, he found himself living with his parents and younger sister Taryn during lockdown. As he began to write new material, Taryn became both counterpoint and collaborator, helping him shape a set of personal songs that resonated with her generation (Gen Z) and his (Millennial).

Using the family name, they launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund an EP for their new project. In 2021, one of their demos, a hooky tongue-in-cheek ode to loserdom called "Who's Laughing Now," became a surprise viral hit on TikTok. They rushed to release the final version, which continued the song's upward trajectory over the next year. By 2023, Durry had completed a full-length album to house their breakout hit along with 11 more like-minded tracks. Taking musical cues from forebears like Weezer, the White Stripes, and Sum 41, Suburban Legend was released that September.
