Benefits + STRAIGHT GIRL + Oldboy at Strange Brew
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"If the Queen’s death brought a victorious grin to your face, then you should’ve been listening to Benefits. Bleeding nail noise songs to burn flags to, with anarchist mantras shouted like footy chants into the feedback storm; think Mark E Smith fronting Sunn O))) and you're warm. Must-watch for fans of: Blackhaine, Yard Act, Sleaford Mods, Kelan, Idles, Bob Vylan, clipping. "

For those who witnessed Benefits' debut Bristol show at Rough Trade, it was akin to a religious experience. A baptism of cathartic noise, power electronics and visceral, lyrical wit. A no-holds barred aural assault which left us all throbbing with glee. We are delighted to be presenting another opportunity to experience and witness Benefits in all their skull shattering beauty, this time in the Strange Brew bunker.

The past few months have seen a who's who of left-field music legends shouting about Benefits, and rightly so, Steve Albini declared his love, Frank Black declared his affection and a run of 1000 7"s sold out in less than 24 hours. Some say they are the second-coming hybrid of Crass, Throbbing Gristle et al, but with distinct, acerbic and honest lyricism. Benefits are the real deal, a voice for a generation of the pissed off and frustrated, preaching their own cathartic brand of industrial noise and poetry.

We urge you to join us for this one.
