Bal Folk with Hartwin Dhoore + special guest at Strange Brew
See event details

A gig held at Strange Brew on Thursday 25th May. The event starts at 19:30.

A bal is the European version of a ceilidh. Most of the dances are in couples rather than sets and are easy to pick up as you go. We’ll be running a beginners dance workshop at the start of the evening to show you everything you need to get out on the dance floor.

Balfolk Bristol is delighted to present Hartwin Dhoore (Belgium), joined for one night only by Bristol musician Ross Grant.

Hartwin Dhoore (Trio Dhoore, Estbel) has been roaming international stages as a professional musician since 2015. Inspired by traditional European music, Hartwin has crafted his own style. Hartwin's two albums, 'Waterman' and 'Valge Vagus' include melodies played in a delicate but touching way. The honest and calming tunes reflect the symbiosis of Hartwin and his melodeon; a result of playing and creating music for many years.

Doors open 7.30pm
Dance workshop 7.45pm
Bal starts 8.30pm
