Strange Brew & Adrian Utley
presents ‘Transcendence’
Featuring:
Adrian Utley +
Seb Rochford +
Mark Edwards +
Arnie Somogyi +
Paul Booth

Thursday 17th April | 19:00-22:00

Following a captivating in-the-round collab of trip-hop abstractions in February with FELT and Cold Light, Portishead visionary Adrian Utley returns to the Brew, this time with a new narrative and another stellar cast.

‘Transcendence’ is a journey through jazz improvisation, electronica, and experimental sound.

Drawing on both composed pieces and extended spontaneous improvisation, the night will explore themes of movement, chaos, transcendence and resolution, delivered through a fusion of expansive melodies, and immersive soundscapes. Expect moments of introspective beauty as well as unrestrained sonic exploration.

Adrian Utley (Portishead) – guitar, synths
Seb Rochford (Polar Bear, Patti Smith, David Byrne) - drums, percussion
Mark Edwards (Katie Melua, Carleen Anderson) – piano, keyboards
Arnie Somogyi (Eddie Henderson, Amy Winehouse) – bass
Paul Booth (Steve Winwood, Steely Dan) – saxophones
