A
gig
held at Strange Brew
on Saturday 25th January. The event starts at 19:00.
Blow away the post-New Year cobwebs and come and see a genre-ranging four band bill of fantastic Bristol bands.
It's Pay What You Can (PWYC), so if you're feeling the pinch, get down anyway and enjoy some music, but if you can spare a penny then please do - it'll all be going to the bands!
MOULD
Chunky punk power trio from Bristol, making succinct hits for the short attention spanned. Having played together in various forms for over 10+ years - in numerous bands within Bristol's DIY worlds & years of extensive touring/recording as Fenne Lily's backing band - the trio finally decided to take full advantage of their acrued closeness & tightness as humans/musicians and plunge that into a fresh, new beast.
MP3 Chainsaw
In the depths of Bristol between discarded guitars and Ableton cracks, 5 unlikely anti-heroes (GMO Pop Stars) fight crime (boring/bland music) and evil (fuccbois at night clubs)!!! Wielding a perfect weapon of maximalist pop forged from elements of shoegaze/funk/80s synth/club-music/noise/hardcore/riot grrrrl/goth.
LIFTER
Proudly taking musical cues from a diverse range of sources, including slowcore, folk, country, and indie rock, they deftly showcase this throughout first album “Clasping Hands with the Moribund”, which came out in October 2024. A handful of influences would include Fairport Convention, Sparklehorse, and Duster.
Hamburger
Six humans writing stupid pop songs about their stupid feelings. Emo-tinged bangers from the void between goofy and gloomy. Sometimes melancholic, mostly moronic but always packed full of those juicy juicy hooks to help you grow big and strong.
Entry requirements: 14+, any under 18s accompanied by 21+ adult 1:1 ratio
