A gig held at Strange Brew on Friday 30th August. The event starts at 19:30.

This night brings together bell makers who explore the function and fabrication of bells in different ways. It combines bells both as objects, and for performance. There are two types of bells, those that make sound and those that don’t.

Marcus Vergette’s creative practice is rooted in the duality of being both a sculptor and musician. One of his core principles is democratising art, and he has worked extensively in creating public bell sculptures. For this show he has made four painted plaster bells on a wooden frame that form the centerpiece of a new series of musical compositions. Marcus will be accompanied by a 6 piece band featuring Nell Hubbard, Jessica Wynn-Jones, and Lucy Foat on vocals and Jem Fatma on percussion.

Copper Sounds, Sarahsson and Guest join together to bring you the collaboration you didn't know you needed. Drawn together by their interest in physical sound and the building of experimental instruments. The collaboration will feature a series of five experimental bronze bells, haunting vocals, unhinged Daxophone and who knows what else. Their set will be an immersive auditory and visual experience that promises to be both equal parts beautiful and grotesque.

Entry requirements: no age restrictions (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult over 21yrs, 1:1 ratio)
