Fresh psychedelia from Istanbul!

Lalalar offer future-nostalgia through heavy basslines, clubby rhythms, vocals, guitars and samples from the legacies of Anatolia. Formed in 2019, they came back in September this year with a killer new album on Les Disques Bongo Joe after setting European stages on fire over the summer.

Their roots are in Anatolian poetry and sounds, but their focus is on club-oriented, uncompromising rock. Istanbul has always been a melting pot of political energy, social furore, and intense musical progression; a hotbed of riotous sounds and artists looking for new outlets and sound; a bi-product of youth culture who have been living under the rule of Erdogan for almost a decade. It’s from these streets that Lalalar came to fruition, radicals in terms of their political ideology; outspoken, ideological, and full of energy, ripe for the dancefloor.

Support from Bristol's propulsive 4-piece Hypothetics, who deliver an experimental post-grunge sound filtered through hazy melodies and tortured electronics. Their reputation for hard hitting performances has landed them shows across the UK with appearances at Forwards & 2000trees. Their debut EP 'GETS LET DOWN! received extensive attention from BBC Radio 1 as well as Spotify's editorial playlists, including 'Hot New Bands', 'Post Punk' and 'Melomania', and they were included in CLUNK Magazine's 'Ones to Watch 2024' alongside the likes of Opus Kink and Fat Dog.

Plus Hellfire Video Club DJs spinning a special blend of Turkish psych and sorta-halloween selections on vinyl
