Félicia Atkinson (Live Quadrophonic surround sound performance)
Dan Thorman (LIVE)
Parisian-born artist Félicia Atkinson’s multifaceted work embraces improvisation, science-fiction, composition, chance, noise, abstraction and poetry.
Her sound palette draws from the history of electronics, musique concrète, field recordings and improvisation through the use of synthesizers, guitar and piano, abstract distortions, text-sound and infra bass. She also runs the experimental music label Shelter Press with Bartolomé Sanson. Her latest album, is a Strange Brew 2022 favourite - which absorbs and unsettles, juxtaposing whispers, wisps of atmospheric noise, and digitally rendered instruments that float around the auditory field in uncanny ways. Best heard on a quadrophonic surround system like tonight!
Support comes from Bristol ambient peddlar Dan Thorman, who makes use of guitar, modular synth, Decks-n-fx to create a lush soundscape to get lost and relax in
