Hailed as “one of the most innovative and creative bands in the UK today” (Soweto Kinch / BBC Radio3), Snowpoet return to St George’s to premiere their much anticipated fourth studio album Heartstrings. Snowpoet’s music offers a rare insight into song and poetic lyric writing, holding a space for the complexities found in love, loss, change and ultimately renewal. Their music is “a beautiful statement of the heart” (Arts Desk) and “the kind of music you often look back to” (Written In Music). With a dedicated and ever-growing fan base worldwide, their sound is a testament to the group’s original and beautiful voice.
Before Snowpoet, the brilliant, highly original local duo JOW play a 30 minute set. JOW is an acoustic instrumental duo, comprising cellist James Gow (Eleven Magpies, Dao, etc) and trumpeter Pete Judge (Get the Blessing, Three Cane Whale, etc). Their distinctive blend of jazz, folk, and classical chamber music has rapidly acquired them a reputation as serial collaborators and sonic explorers (last seen at St George's with Adrian Utley's Drones collective). "There is no ego to this, just musicians playing organic music. The audience love them" (Bristol 24/7)
