on Friday 9th February. The event starts at 19:00.
This is an interactive 2-day NON-RESIDENTIAL workshop in Bristol 9/10 Feb 2024
19.00 -21.30 Friday, 10.00-18.00 Saturday St. Anne’s Church Eastville
Come, dream your year into being!
Dreaming, like the tides of the ocean, like the movement of sap in trees and plants, like women's cycles, is influenced by the moon.
The new moon is a time when we can sow the seeds of new beginnings. The night of this workshop is particularly auspicious because it is the first new moon after the ancient Celtic festival of ‘imbolc’, when the very first shoots of new life begin to appear from the barren earth of winter. In the Christian calendar this is the time of Candlemas, or St Brigid’s day.
On the Friday evening there will be introductions, a brief talk, then activities geared towards preparing us for a night of potent dreaming. We then go home to sleep, and in the morning we gather again and share our dreams in a structured and supportive way.
The focus will be on growing and nurturing the visions we have for the next period in our lives. What do the night-time messages from the soul reveal about what we are creating and how we can sustain projects and life paths that are in tune with our true purpose?
In the toolkit are:
• The ‘Lightning Dreamwork’ process (R. Moss) for dream sharing and mutual support
• Gestalt dreamwork, where each component of a dream is given its own voice and raison d’etre
• Dream re-entry, utilising a ‘shamanic’ trance state induced by a regular drumbeat
• Dream Theatre, a technique akin to psychodrama or constellations work, where the whole group participates in a re-enactment of dream scenes
• Dream Drawing; using art materials to further understand the dream or to fix into deeper awareness the resolution of issues the dream presents
• Dream Shadow Healing, working with live-cast dream motifs or tableaux
The facilitator: Alex Heron is an experienced teacher and trainer who has been studying dreaming in its many guises for over 30 years and has run dreamwork courses internationally for 6 years.
