A event held at Sidney & Eden on Tuesday 26th November. The event starts at 19:00.

Indie Classics Film Club presents Mean Streets, taking place 19:00 at the Sidney and Eden pub on Tuesday November 26th!

Set in the same Little Italy neighbourhood in New York that Scorsese himself grew up in, Mean Streets is a personal story about Charlie (Harvey Kietel), a listless young Italian-American torn between the moral lessons of his Catholicism, petty crime carried out on behalf of the local Mafia, and loyalty to his ne'er do well best friend Johnny Boy (Robert de Niro).

The third film in Scorsese’s career, Mean Streets was his artistic and commercial breakthrough. Despite being made on a low-budget, it features many of the trademarks we now associate him with — dynamic and imaginative camera work, an irresistible pop music score, and a first collaboration with a young Robert de Niro.

Entry is free, and the film will start at 19:00, in the downstairs room of the Sidney and Eden (BS7 8NU). All are welcome to stay and chat over a post-film drink afterwards!
