Inland Empire at Sidney & Eden

A event held at Sidney & Eden on Tuesday 18th February. The event starts at 19:00.

In honour of David Lynch, who sadly passed away last week, the Indie Classics Film Club will be screening INLAND EMPIRE (2006) on Tuesday 18th February.

In what we now know is the great man’s final film, Lynch takes all of the aspects of surrealism, nightmares, the uncanny and non-linear narratives that had preoccupied his whole career, and pushes them to new extremes.

Laura Dern stars as a Hollywood actress auditioning for a role in a supposedly cursed film, but beyond that it’s a film that’s almost impossible to synopsize. The pithy, vague tagline Lynch himself used when asked by bewildered viewers what the film was about best suffices: ‘A woman in trouble’.

So come along to the Sidney and Eden pub (any time from 6.30pm for a 7pm start) and strap yourselves in for three hours tuned into the unconscious mind of arguably the greatest (and my personal favourite) director of all time! Entry is free, and all are welcome to stay for a drink afterwards.
