Retirement Party is an indie rock band from Chicago fronted by Avery Springer. Formed in 2016 when Springer was a fresh high school graduate, the band has grown and evolved along with her.

Characterised by stream-of-conscious and tongue-in-cheek lyrics, Retirement Party maintains a balance of being upbeat and fun while keeping things emotionally grounded. Their EP, Strictly Speaking, was released in 2017 with their debut full length album, Somewhat Literate, following in 2018.

In the midst of the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, they released their sophomore album, Runaway Dog. Prior to a brief hiatus the band released their soft spoken self titled EP in 2022.

The band has experienced member and life changes over the years that have slowed things down, but Springer continues to express the trials and tribulations of being human with new music and a full UK Tour in 2025.
We’re delighted to bring them to Bristol alongside their friends and midwest-emo contemporaries ‘Carly Cosgrove’ who’ll join as special guests
