BROKEN DREAMS CLUB
Lonely bedroom project turned legitimate real life live band, Broken Dreams Club are named after an EP released by the band Girls in 2010. Amy (singer/ songwriter/producer) sought permission to use the name from Christopher Owens. He replied to her request on Twitter by saying ‘go for it’. Amy has been releasing music on Cologne based Intersphere Records since 2021 on limited edition cassette tapes as well as streaming.
SECOND WIFE
Hailing from Bristol, UK, Second Wife is a trio making a big impact in the music scene with their unapologetic and energetic brand of folky pop punk. Their clever wordplay coupled with impeccable comedic timing, reminiscent of Flight of the Conchords, infuses with a fierce feminist punk attitude, comparable to the legendary Bikini Kill, which catapults them into the realm of unstoppable powerhouses.
Their lyrics are a unique blend of satire and celebration, tackling societal norms, the "fit dad
bod", and their own quirky dating experiences. Their live performances, featuring their own
bespoke and innovative instrument "The Cockenspiel", are a must-see experience, bursting
with energy and dynamic performances that leave a lasting impression.
Second Wife continues to push boundaries and make a lasting impact on all who encounter
their music.
ORLA BLIGH
With roots as a performer and promoter in the UK queer arts scene, Orla Bligh is stepping
out as a solo artist writing songs as a process for healing and finding herself.
As her debut release, Towers serves as an introduction to Orla’s artistic vision and a starting
point in a chronology of releases which document various stages in her transition and
healing process. Written in 2021 at the height of the pandemic about an experience of discrimination in a former workplace which left her feeling powerless, Towers speaks to the oppressive structures trans people often find themselves in and the current state of society at large. Through this, Orla hopes to provide catharsis and healing for anyone who’s ever been left
behind, as she is joined by members of the Trans Voices choir later on the song chanting “they won’t save us now”, a call for collective unity in the face of division.
AFTER SHOCK
After Shock has been bouncing around the Bristol music scene for fifteen years. After taking a break from music they became Bristol's vocal drag powerhouse in 2021 and since then have become a staple in the scene as a host & producer. Colloquially known as 'The Body of Bristol', if their signature live vocals don't do it for you, their arse certainly will.
Don't miss this lineup it's gonna be an unforgettable night!
