A gig held at Rough Trade Bristol on Monday 18th November. The event starts at 20:00.

deary
deary comprises of London based musicians Ben & Dottie, creating wistful dream pop. In the midst of the global pandemic, the duo struck up a partnership, swapping ideas over social media. Described as “a sonic tidal wave of feeling”, their eponymous debut EP was released via Sonic Cathedral in November 2023, and praised upon its release by the likes of Clash, Brooklyn Vegan, BBC 6 Music, KEXP and Under The Radar. Having worked with Saint Etienne and supported Slowdive last year, as well as reaching UK #1 (Vinyl Singles) with their debut single ‘Fairground’, the duo support Cranes in Leeds and London in May this year whilst recording their debut album.

sadplanet
sadplanet are a five-piece shoegaze/dream-pop group from London. Formed in late 2023, sadplanet comprises Kyra Ho (vocals), Nick Rainey (guitar), Aiden Knowles (guitar), Jeff Baker (drums), and Dan Lawrence (bass).

With a sound characterised by lush, layered instrumentation, sadplanet masterfully blends impactful percussion, grooving basslines, harmonious and cathartic guitars, and sweet, soothing vocals paired with thoughtful lyrics. Their unique fusion of shoegaze and dream-pop, sprinkled with indie and electronic elements, offers a refreshing take on the shoegaze revival.

Wyr
Formed in 2023, Wyr credits their unique sound to influences such as My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth, and The Cure.

Listeners can find themselves immersed in their trance inducing atmosphere oozing with fuzzed out feedback and plenty of reverb. A mixture of post punk inspired spoken word and ethereal vocals float above the soundscape of fragrant guitar tones and huge basslines to reveal a vulnerability through lyrics with themes of loss, anger, queer identity, love, catholic guilt and mental health.

Since their first gig at a sold out Louisiana supporting Motel Thieves and Waterpistol in October 2023, Wyr have grown their following and gained a lot of traction in the Bristol music scene, supporting the likes of The Pleasure Dome and Bible club. Outside of Bristol, Wyr have played shows in Brighton, Cardiff and Newport, immersing themselves fully into the Welsh music scene with a highlight of a show supporting Graywave at iconic venue Clwb FOR Bach
