Sweet Juno
+ Muncle, neverlove. Comfort
Sweet Juno is 70s power pop and 90s slacker rock combined.
The seaside-slackers began in Cornwall under the name “Hummus Boys” and quickly became local favourites in the infamous small-town scene. Having switched members and name, now they’re based in London and Bristol. Recently, they released their eponymous single “Sweet Juno”, along side a sold out headline gig at the famous Louisiana in Bristol. The song captures everything Sweet Juno is: sarcastically melodramatic, caring about everything and nothing, kitschy melodies and shouty and sarcastic vocals.
MUNCLE:
Knocking about releasing music since 2013, Bristol guy Mike Griffiths makes alt rock/powerpop records, and plays them live with his best mates. Keep making stuff, keep playing it live, keep going.
NEVERLOVE.
The five members of neverlove, scattered across southwest england, were dragged together, kicking and sulking by their shared interest in the sombre and earnest. Emo, mathrock, indie, punk and country sounds are mixed in with apathy and sincerity to create a sluggishly energetic live performance.
Delicate, glassy melodies are backed by scratchy guitars, big drums, melodic bass and a fair bit of shouting and complaining.
COMFORT:
Comfort is a fresh Bristol-based band weaving together the grit of 90s alt-rock and the reflective warmth of early 2010s indie. Their music delves into the raw corners of relationships, the bittersweet echoes of childhood, and the journey of self-discovery, creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and uniquely their own.
