Join us for a vibrant evening of live music and spoken word performances at the Redgrave Theatre Showcase. This exciting new event will feature 4 talented musicians and 4 spoken word artists from the local community, offering a platform for fresh voices and original creativity.

Whether you're a long-time theatre-goer or new to the space, we would like to invite you to experience diverse performances on your local stage.

Expect an evening full of inspiration, emotion, and creativity as these local artists share with you their powerful songs and thought-provoking words.

This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a night of local talent and celebrate the art of live performance in a welcoming, community-focused space.

The Lineup for the September Showcase

EDDY

Eddy' has etched her unique sound onto the musical landscape, captivating audiences with her ethereal melodies and heartfelt lyrics. Inspired by the likes of Lizzy McAlpine, Paolo Nutini, Billie Eilish and Eva Cassidy, EDDYs songs are a tapestry of emotions. Blending elements of indie, pop, folk, & R&B, her music defies easy categorisation, painting EDDY as an artist who thrives on pushing the boundaries of genre. Since writing her first songs at 15, she's now honed her craft into a profession. Performing at various venues and events, including Latitude festival and being played on BBC Radio 1 and Radio 6.​ EDDY has been working very closely with Jelli Records of Bristol

James Slater

James Slater is a singer/songwriter living in the west country, his influences however are the other west! over the water in the US. James likes to sing Americana, the musical ethos of the United States, blending folk, country, blues, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, gospel, and other external influences. It is in these American musical roots that James is at home, singing and writing in this style.

Brian Inglis

Brian Inglis is a musician and singer songwriter based in Bristol. His styles cover pop to country rock and blues to mellow jazz hopefully providing something for everyone of all ages. Brian has released five albums, a number of singles and two EPs to date. In November 2023 he released his latest album ‘Along the Way….’ Which is in the alternative country genre. His previous albums cover soft rock, jazz and blues, pop and of course country rock.

Steve Price

Steve Price and Pete Dunn have been playing their brand Americana for many years. Steve lunched two albums in 2024 attracting many plays on iTunes and Spotify, Steve and Pete love to tell stories about the songs they love to play. Some funny, some sad, a real funny look at life !!!!

Just Jax

Jacqueline writes micro-fiction. Her stories are either fifty or 100 words long and are an eclectic mix, some will bring a smile, others may awaken emotions and some explore darker areas which are not always comfortable to contemplate. Her material has been broadcast on BBC Radio and Somer Valley FM as a result Jacqueline is becoming well known for her work.

Liam Callaghan

Like a preacher without a church, Liam Callaghan’s poetry draws from the current zeitgeist with fiery spirit to deliver a necessary message to the masses.

Colin Dick

Over the past couple of years, Colin has become a regular at several of Bristol's poetry and spoken word nights. A mediocre snooker player, he writes poems born of confusion, frustration and outright failure - peppered with the occasional fleeting moment of triumph. Predominantly a performance poet, his work manages to weave its way to and fro through circles of pain, hope and nostalgia - never entirely losing sight of the goal to entertain.

Isabel White

Founder of poetry collective Alarms & Excursions, Isabel has been writing and performing for over 20 years. She has performed all over the UK, in Paris and Rotterdam, working with a host of familiar names – including Bernadine Evaristo, Matt Harvey, John Hegley, Michael Horowitz… Isabel was twice finalist in the BBC Radio 3 Proms competition. Her work has been published on three continents, in over forty online and print journals and anthologies, on Radio in the UK and USA. She has three full collections and three pamphlets published to date.
