A
event
held at PRSC
on Thursday 30th January. The event starts at 19:00.
This is an invitation to gather at People’s Republic of Stokes Croft on Thurs 30th Jan, to join us in singing for peace in Palestine & raising funds for BPA.
Poetry workshop, group singing with BPA choir, & live music from Chai for All.
6.30pm – Doors open, serving free hot tea to early birds (and late birds too)
7–8pm – Facilitated poetry workshop (more info on this TBC)
8.15–8.45ish – Group singing led by BPA choir, songs of strength and struggle to bring home with you, or onto the streets during local demonstrations.
8.45–9.30pm – Live music from Chai for All, a local multinational, multilingual ensemble offering songs from both Arabic and Jewish traditions on the themes of friendship and peace.
This is a consent-informed space, meaning there is no pressure to write, sing, or otherwise participate if you don’t feel like it. If your intention is simply to listen and be present in the space, you are more than welcome to join us in silence. Everyone is welcome, and every activity is just an invitation.
This event is raising funds for Bristol Palestine Alliance, an allied group of Bristolians calling for the liberation of Palestine.
Accessibility
The venue is wheelchair accessible but the toilets are not. The nearest fully accessible toilet is in Hamilton House. There will be chairs and some soft seating available but most of the room will be standing space. From 8.45pm there will be amplified music, but it won’t be very loud.
