A
event
on Sunday 17th November. The event starts at 12:00.
A guided foraging workshop & journaling/sketching session for trans, non-binary & gender questioning folk led by foraging teacher and illustrator Ruby Scott-Geddes (they/them). We'll learn about wild food, medicine and crafts, and practice nature connection as an act of resistance & community care!
Key info:
Meeting point: Oldbury Court Car Park
Contact: 07308740047 (Ruby, they/them)
The workshop:
We'll learn about some plants and fungi growing around Oldbury Court and Snuff Mills - some edible, some medicinal, some deadly, some craftable, all wonderful! Whilst we forage, we'll discuss some ideas grounded in Queering Ecologies ~ exploring the queerness of nature all around us, and inviting reflections on our own experiences.
There'll be opportunities to journal and sketch if you'd like, and chances to discuss how we can build community, and care for ourselves as part of nature, and imagine inspiring futures through seeing endless ways of being entangled all around us...
Tickets:
- Kids are welcome with their responsible adults
- You're also welcome to bring pals who are allies if you'd like.
- Tickets are free or pay what you can with all funds from ticket sales donated to Trans Pride Bristol, to support the great work they do to support Bristol's Trans+ community and fight for trans rights <3
Accessibility:
- We'll mainly be using paved and even paths, with a sloped section and some venturing into soft and leafy ground, depending on the requirements of the group. More detailed information including gradients can be seen here: https://www.plotaroute.com/route/2806735?units=km
- The pace will be slow with plenty of time for rests and discussions. You're also welcome to wander in and out of the workshop as you need/want to.
