Firstly, be sure not mistake this venue for The Coroner's Court in Stokes Croft. Like the other venues in The Island complex, the Old Crown Courts facilitate partying in a former public sector building. Club promoters usually position a bar in the majestic, marble-pillared foyer and install sound systems in the two grand courtrooms.
The Crown Courts couldn't be more different to your typical black-box venue - boasting high ceilings, ornate cornicing and flaking paint. The building remains how it was when the lawyers left with DJs now presiding from the front benches.
