A
gig
held at Mr Wolfs
on Saturday 3rd September. The event starts at 21:00.
The Golden Guild Band is a product of reggae artist and frontman Guire, following the release last year of his latest album FREEDUMB. Guire wanted to bring his music to a live audience and has a good name on the reggae scene, not just in Bristol but back in Jamaica. All of the songs are original roots reggae and dub-based tracks with a dancehall flavour.
The Bristol-based band are a six-piece of seasoned players handpicked by Guire with all members hailing from Somerset and Wales. The core members include rhythm guitarist Tom Hughes, lead guitarist Mikey Martelette, bass guitar Daron Darroux, keyboards Steve Young, drums Alex Macintosh and Guire on vocals. The band members come from a variety of musical influences, but all have a passion for reggae and such diverse backgrounds blend for a unique style and sound. They have strong ties with many of the best reggae acts in the South West, including Da Fuchaman and His Fireblaze Band.
