"Choke - that crucial lifeline of early 21st century Bristol weirdness - returns for the first time in 13 years to check the pulse of local DIY culture. Expect esoteric industrial-post-punk druidism from The Flag Fen Project, violin-led psych-grungers Shoun Shoun, morose agricultural noise rock from Gluehorse + old faces in new formations."

A
gig
held at Moor Beer Co
on Saturday 26th October. The event starts at 14:30.
Club Choke was a series of live music and DJ nights at Bristol venues from 2002 - 2011, which included a 2.5 year monthly residency at The Croft.
It grew out of a notorious zine and web forum (both called Choke) and was known for eclectic live music and DJ lineups featuring post-rock, noise, indie-folk, punk and electronica.
This all-day show is the first Choke event for thirteen years. The lineup features new projects from Choke regulars - some suffering full blown mid-life crises and others completely failing to mellow with age.
SHOUN SHOUN
Atmospheric noise pop and art rock with the urban ennui of Nico and the noise of Sonic Youth. Includes former members of Big Joan / Male and Chikinki.
GLUEHORSE
Agricultural noise rock from alumni of Tractor, Hacksaw and Fruit of the Doom. Hell rhythms and sound carnage.
THE FLAG FEN PROJECT
Dirty Bronze Age artefacts hewn of techno, rock, folk and dub. Ex-Big Joan types.
CAPTAIN ZERO
Shouty rawkus rock-noise power trio comprising members of Geisha, Big Joan and Superseed / The Get Outs. https://captainzeroband.bandcamp.com/
WAR AGAINST SLEEP
A veteran of Choke nights of old, Duncan Fleming walks a razor sharp tightrope between deranged humour and classic pop.
STATE
