THE UNDERDOG 2025: OVERLOAD A

The Underdog returns in 2025 with a special ten-year anniversary series

The Overload events are a standalone series, featuring bands from The Underdog Heats who failed to progress to the Semi Finals. Six bands will compete at each of the two Overload events, with the top-scoring band getting to guest headline one of the Semi Finals at Thekla.

First launched in 2015, The Underdog quickly established itself on the Bristol scene as an alternative to the larger national competitions. Hundreds of local bands have competed at venues like o2 Academy, Thekla, The Fleece, Exchange, The Thunderbolt, and Zed Alley.

Seventy-two bands from around the South West and Wales will battle it out at the 2025 Underdog competition, our biggest-ever event series... but there can only be one winner!
