Dear Vitality Family,
We are delighted to announce our second event to be held on Saturday 13th May 2017 at Malcolm X Community Centre. All proceeds from this second event will be split between two fantastic local community organisations; Malcolm X Community Centre and Refugee Women of Bristol.
For those of you that missed our first event, Vitality is a daytime soundsystem party in a healthy, wholesome and family-friendly space. Each Vitality event raises funds for small charities and local community organisations. So if you like the idea of shaking a leg to some big sounds while sipping on a fresh juice and helping raise money for a good cause, this is the party for you!

The next event will once again be powered by Roots Inspiration Sound System and we are delighted to announce that Earl Sixteen will be headlining the event. For those that don't know, Earl is a prolific singer from the world of Roots Reggae who has recorded at Studio One and other prominent Jamaican studios since the '70s. Over the years his voice has graced tracks from legendary producers such as Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Augustus Pablo, Sugar Minott and Mad Professor. He is also well-known for his recent work with the group, Dreadzone and his collaborations with Leftfield. Earl Sixteen will be playing from 4pm to 5pm at Vitality - we can't wait!
Roots Inspiration Sound will be reinforcing proceedings with a special showcase set, taking us on a journey through the history of Roots Reggae and Dub music.
Taking a step over to the world of UK hip hop, we are blessed to be hosting a set from Bristol-based outfit, The High Breed, who will be bringing their unique blend of slick beats and mind-expanding lyricism to proceedings.
And if that wasn't enough musical excitement, the icing on the cake: Bristol's very own Jungle Drum and Bass pioneer and now label boss and musical director of genre-defying record label GutterFunk, DJ Die, will be sharing with us an eclectic set of some of his favourite and most influential cuts from his vinyl collection. Yes!
Set-time and more info on each of our guest artists coming soon.
Vitality will feature an expanded range of fun activities for both children and adults including an African dance workshop hosted by Afidance, hulahooping, face-painting, party games and raffle...
We will be welcoming a variety of Bristol-based food vendors to the Vitality Street Food Market:
All food served will be 100% plant-based & gluten-free. Organic ingredients will be used wherever possible.
Ital Garden will be serving some delicious and heart-warming Caribbean Ital soulfood.
Viet Vite will be doing their classic Hanoi-inspired street-food specialities with a plant-based twist.
Mr. Tea's Teas are taking care of refreshments with a special herbal tea and fresh juice bar, with fresh produce sourced from Matter Wholefoods.
Chi Foods will be serving up fresh fruits and will also have some samples of their superfood product range.
Little Roar will be looking after those of us with sweet tooths, with their trademark selection of scrumptiouss raw vegan cakes.
Tickets will be £9 for adults, £2 for children aged 8-16, and free for under-8s. We will of course welcome additional donations to help us raise funds for Malcolm X Community Centre and Refugee Women of Bristol. Refugees and local residents receiving benefits get in free and we will be allocating free tickets to local community groups.
You can reserve paying tickets and/or make donations to the fundraising pot here: https://vitalitybristol.eventbrite.co.uk
We would like to take the opportunity to once again express heartfelt thanks to all who attended and donated generously towards our first event at Chi Foods in September 2016, where we raised £600 for Refugee Community Kitchen. Bring on the next event!
We are looking for reliable and upbeat volunteers to help with this event. Shifts will be flexible, you will still have time to enjoy the event and we will provide food and refreshment. If you are interested in lending a helping hand please give Zaz a call on 07974723109 or email [email protected].
So please save the date and watch this space for more info very soon...
