A
event
held at Lost Horizon
on Sunday 30th July. The event starts at 11:00.
Transcend Festival 2023 is a weekend of creative workshops and live performance by and for trans, non-binary, intersex, and gender nonconforming people. Funded by Arts Council England, Transcend aims to provide a safe place for gender diverse creatives to develop their creative practice, form long lasting networks, and build resilience as a community.
A Sunday Workshop ticket or Full Weekend ticket gives access to all workshops taking place on Sunday. Once you have booked a ticket, a workshop sign-up form will be emailed to you. Some workshops have limited capacity, and places will be given on a first come first served basis. This page will be updated when individual workshops have sold out.
Programme
11am-12pm Qi Gong for Wellbeing
11-12:30pm Trans Life Drawing (18+)
12-2pm Making a Collaging Zine
12:30-2pm Building a Gender Affirming Wardrobe with G(end)er Swap
2-3:30pm Trans Self Massage
2-3:30pm Clothes Swap
The indoor space will be split up into 2 separate workshop areas. We'll also have a small chill out space managed by one of our safeguarding leads, with comfy seating, fidget toys, and other activities for anyone who needs it. This will be in the part of the venue where no 18+ workshops are being held, to make the event more accessible for young people.
Food will be provided by Agnes Spencers Amazing, a local family run Jamaican food vendor.
