SLIPPIN’ ~ Liquid, Proper Rollers, Deeper, Soulful & Underground D&B sounds.

After our first three nights of and drawing a line under phase one, we can’t wait to kick start phase two of our journey...

Our debut event back in March at Lost Horizon was such a good vibe so we’ve decided to return there as it felt like it could be the spot and we think it’ such a great club.

Saturday Sept 28th join us again (or for the first time) for a well-curated night of uplifting, soulful, deeper, old-school, contemporary, rolling and feel-good D&B sounds!

We’re excited to grow this night with all the heads and lovers of these styles and sounds and to introduce the more relaxed, open-minded and eclectic atmosphere of a quality D&B clubnight to any lovers of the sound who are seeking something beyond the massive raves or festival stages!

For this session we’ve assembled a line-up featuring an absolute legend of Drum & Bass DJ culture, someone who for us is hands-down one the best-long-established D&B DJs around. Our other special guest on this night is a producer from Detroit via Holland who is on absolute fire right now, and the line-up is nicely rounded off by some quality local Bristol talent.

Presenting: DJ BAILEY:

Our headliner is one of ‘the DJs DJs’ … We’re pinching ourselves at this one! - Few DJs can claim to be an original architect of the Drum & Bass scene and still be operating at
the cutting edge more than 20 years later, but DJ Bailey is one of them. A resident Metalheadz DJ,
co-founder of Soul In Motion,1Xtra Presenter and Kool FM Presenter, Serato Artist… Bailey’s sets today are as full of fresh and innovative music as they were in 1995 when Kemistry & Storm recruited him for Goldie’ s now-legendary Blue Note Sunday Sessions.

Whether in a club, on radio or online, Bailey’s commitment to shining a light on exciting new
musical talent is beyond question. With turntable & selection skills second-to-none, Baileyis
an alchemist in the mix!! His ability to adapt to any crowd in any environment justifies his reputation as one of the finest DJs in the world. From the most menacing of techstep to the most
liquid of funk, Bailey’s unparalleled knowledge and love of D&B shines through in every electrifying set, gaining him the respect and admiration of audiences from Australia to Japan to Canada and right across Europe.

SUBMORPHICS:

We’re super excited to welcome Greg aka Submorphics over from Amsterdam as he’s one of our favourite ‘Liquid’ producers of recent years who is genuinely on an incredible roll right now.

Submorphics has made his name with soul drenched, deep, emotive, nostalgic yet forward thinking music. Drawing on eclectic influences from his formative years in Detroit, Chicago and San Francisco, Submorphics' productions display a fine tuned signature sound developed over the last decade. With a real feel for tone, groove, melody and composition, his tracks have earned him admiration from fans, DJs and music lovers alike! Signed to ‘The North Quarter’ and putting out a steady stream of top releases on his own ‘Rosebay Music’ check out his latest stuff and get to know!

EPHYRA:

We’re super happy to announce Ephyra as one of our first regular on-rotation Slippin’ resident!
Bristol based producer and DJ, she shelled it down with a well constructed set of quality, forward thinking Liquid and deeper Drum & Bass styles at our last event, so we had to invite her back to help bring her emotive high quality productions and selections to the stage at Lost Horizon for all of you who haven’t caught on to her yet and to warm up the club prior to Submorphics.

MC BLUEJAY:

We’re happy to finally add an MC / host to one of our sessions! Bluejay has held it down with his presence, distinct voice, timing and microphone skills over countless legends of the scene and has been a regular at several Bristol nights including the legendary Optimyistc & Friends, Truth Hertz and Sofa Sound!

NATHAN WORM:

Mr worm and Slippin' founder / curator will be opening the night with some mellow late nineties atmospheric DnB / Jungle vibes this time around. All those who love that sound, get along early to ease into the night!
