Print is Power Presents Reclamation Nation:
'The Bristol Belonging' Banner Making Workshop with Aida Wilde

What conditions do we need to feel a sense of belonging? Whether it is mentally, physically or emotionally, is it the interactions with our family and loved ones? Is it our friends, neighbours and the community that we live/work in?

Over the last year and a half, with most of the world coming to a stand still, and having limited IRL social interactions, it was inevitable that our experiences would have some sort of impact and implications within ourselves and our being.

There are also bigger questions on how do we identify what & who belongs, and who doesn’t in a certain place or situation, especially regarding the current crisis of re-homing of refugees and the displaced.

Following on Aida Wilde’s exploration on the themes of identity & belonging this creative workshop aims to engage & raise debate for issues relevant in today’s society, which can either be personal to you or tackle a wider consciousness.

This is a chance to contribute & create communally towards the completion of a unified community banner. Apply artwork/ your own slogan based designs onto fabric, using various techniques and materials that include pre-screen printed words, heat transfer vinyl, stencil, paint and collage.

What to bring
All materials will be provided. Just bring your own thoughts on belonging, and what it personally means to you. These ideas will be translated visually into printed imagery and words.
