See event details

A clubnight held at The Loco Klub on Saturday 25th January. The event starts at 22:30.

The King is opening up his castle for a once in a lifetime knees up. All are welcome, no matter your social class, age, race, sexuality, gender, religion. Sirs to surfs, princesses to wenches, the king just wants to party. Lay down your swords and shields for a knight of merriment. It’s time to put the evil in medieval. The rave in brave. On Saturday the 25th we feast on beats worthy of a royal hearing.

The King has spared no expense, and alongside this beautiful selection of acts and disc jockeys will be all sorts of twists and turns. The whole of Albion has been sent an invite so expect to meet all sorts of characters. There will be jousting competitions, fortune telling , and a puppet show!

Disc Jockeys supplying rhythms from all over the realm (dub and dubstep, jigs and jungle, medieval mash ups and many more). Prophetic musical performances written in ancient tomes. Albions Got Talent. Puppet show. A bunch of medieval characters and activities to get involved with.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Room 1 (The Kings Court):

Shifter - Top Jester, seasoned zester, Shifter's gonna have you all in stitches closing the Kings Court. Not sure what to expect other than a room full of smiles. The King is trusting his lead Jester to send everyone off right. Legend.

Jett and Elle - The Prince and Princess are rarely seen together these days, more time in court than courting. The anticipation in Albion is palpable, as we wait for these two to meet again. This could get dark.

Panda and the Moniums - Panda and The Moniums is a high-energy festival-folk band who captivates audiences with an eclectic soundscape of Celtic, Hip-Hop, Balkan and Live DnB and Dub. Fronted by a versatile singer-songwriter with whimsical lyrics an archaic voice.

B2B - You’ve seen them on every lineup. International superstars go back in time for a new challenge. Consisting of local legend “Al the Beat Maker” and your friendly neighbourhood Scouser “Urban Goose”, B2B promise absolute whimsical nonsense. They don’t care, they end up on any lineup they want. Oh, and their backs will be sellotaped together.

Bard 4 Lyf - Tavern type beat. Medieval covers that will have you singing along in old English. Bound to be a laugh!

Eva Scott - Delivering ethereal tones through her live performances, Eva’s heavenly voice would civilise even the most ruthless barbarians.

Phoebe - A debut set for Phoebs, but with a tune selection like hers you’d have thought she’d been a disc jockey for centuries. Expect a lot of mysterious and dark dubstep, full of interesting sounds and flavours.

Room 2 (The Dungeon - powered by TWO TON):

Amelie - Amelie’s been shirking her peasant duties for far too long now, and has been in and out the dungeon more times than the local guard. She knows her way around a dark room, and the fiddle… Expect bouncy jigs and tomfoolery that’ll make the castle walls tremble!

Chael - Accordians, accordions, accordions. French, European and Irish ditty's. Rhythms from all over the realm. What an absolute treat. Love this guy.

Albions Got Talent - The finest circus performers in the land have come together for a face off. Miss Camaro will be wowing the crowd with her impressive knife juggling! Hoop Girl will hypnotise you with her effortless hoola hooping performance, and Saffire with a seriously sizzling burlesque performance.

El-ze - Even the Elven Enchantress is getting in on the action. El-ze sorceress is used to having the crowd under her spell, summoning tunes that are sure to get your knees up. Expect a wide array of silly business, taking inspiration from the lowly bard all the way to Bach, this will be excellent!

OJAI (2TON) - “Co-founder of Two Ton Soundsystem , Ojai has mixed inspirations from traditional UK soundsystem culture with broader underground bass-driven landscapes. Hits sets are centred around 140 dynamism, weaving sub-bass resonance and damaging drum patterns in creating an identity that pays homage to heavyweight bass culture.” (I didn’t know how to make this sound medieval soz).

Cthulhu - Medieval madness for this opening set, get you in the mood from early on. Trance from the Dark Ages, medieval jig and tavern vibes, and a few LotR classics. Can't go wrong.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Keep an eye out for all the extra bits and bobs! Puppet shows, Jousting, Fortune Telling and a gang of evil Jesters ready to make you smile (for a price...)

Any offensive or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated, so stay vigilant! If you witness or experience anything of the sort please report it to one of the staff, crew or security and it will be dealt with accordingly. The castle is a safe space for all to feel comfortable being a bit ludicrous.
Don’t be a b*llend, or you’ll end up in the stocks!

p.s. fancy dress isn't mandatory but much appreciated.
