Youth of the original MessenJah sound, established ‘82 in Swindon town by brothers Asher and Maxi, they’ve been in soundsystem culture long time playing on PA’s, their father’s boxes and local veteran sounds like Jah Lokko, as well as dubplates and releases on the MessenJah Movements record label. Now with one-away, hand built boxes of their own and playing inna ghetto fashion at St. Paul’s Carnival, Malcom X and the rest of the South West; a roots and culture sound coming with a message from The Most High

PRINCESS BLACK is a roots reggae singer and vocalist, originally part of the foundational UK roots band Capital Letters. Since then she has recorded works with Jonah Dan and Roots Hitek, and performed live alongside Binghi Empress around Bristol

Established under 2 years ago, Roots Society have been running their system with serious attention to selection and sound quality, fine tuning and upgrading it session after session. Having stepped into the scene with a series of community style open events in Easton, they have quickly gathered following for their unpretentious attitude towards dub and roots music

A grassroots legacy venue and community space, Kuumba Centre has forwarded roots music, Rastafari culture and social change for decades. One of the best acoustic spaces for soundsystem in Bristol, and a 1 minute walk off of Stokes Croft, it is the throbbing heart of St Paul’s. There will be vegan / vegetarian Ital food, as well as drinks and a covered smoking area. Real vibes
